One day at a time.

slain that., Been there
They say that during a near death experience your life flashes before your eyes. I've had at least eleventy-four near death experiences, and they've taught me two things:
1. The only thing that flashes before my eyes are multiple immediate action options for surviving said situation;
2. The realization that I have to learn to stop getting myself in these situations.

Made it to work today without getting into an accident, being abducted by space aliens, driving through an inter-dimensional portal, or being attacked by a Taliban hit squad, so other than that first thing today sucks!*

*Okay, so maybe I still have to work on item #2.

Yeah, you don't want to be one of those people whose last thought is, "Oops."

Though be honest, you wouldn't mind driving through an interdimensional portal, would you? I mean, as long as you arrived intact on the other side and had a way home eventually.

I'm sure whatever's on the other side has to be more fun than here. As long as I could take family and friends with me, I'd never come back.

Traditionally when you come back everything here improves immensely. Perhaps you would pull a Bilbo Baggins and come back with piles of gold and lots of important friends.

Honestly, I go away for five minutes...
Glad you were okay, and yes! #2, work on that and keep safe.

I've been actually dead for 10 minutes, CPR and all, and nothing flashed.
All I can say is that your mileage may vary.
And I totally agree with point #1: all I could do was think about how to get undead.
